At Maureen’s Retreat, we want your stay to feel easy and enjoyable. Your accommodation is set within the main house but designed to give you independence, with secure locks and dedicated spaces for your use.
You’ll have plenty of options to relax — from unwinding indoors to strolling through the gardens, sitting by the fountain, or enjoying the spa under the stars.
Outdoor spaces
The shared outdoor areas of Maureen’s Retreat invite you to slow down and savour the atmosphere. Guests can choose to keep to themselves or enjoy a chat with the host in these spaces. Options include:
- relaxing in the spa
- sitting beneath the patio umbrella with a drink and a garden view
- dining outdoors at a table that seats six
- lighting the chiminea or smokeless firepit to enjoy Ballarat’s cool evenings
- unwinding beside the front garden fountains, where the gentle call of frogs adds to an evening’s charm
Shared indoor space
The only shared indoor space at Maureen’s Retreat is the entry, which doubles as the laundry for both host and guests. Guests are free to use the washing machine, dryer, and iron at any time to make their stay more comfortable.
Locks, Security
Maureen’s Retreat is fitted with 3 main locks:
- a digital electronic lock that is keyed to the last 4 digits of the phone number provided during the booking procedure
- a lock on the internal laundry door to ensure privacy from the shared laundry space
- a lock on the internal passage door that separates the host’s living area from the BnB area
- all windows are key-locked from the inside of each room.
Fire safety
Maureen’s Retreat is fitted with two (2) smoke alarms:
- one in the passageway
- one in the main bedroom
External Lighting
The property is well lit to make arrivals after dark safe and simple. For your safety and comfort, the property features lighting that makes moving around at night simple:
- Pillar lights guide you into the driveway.
- A coach lamp shows the parking area and the beginning of the ramp.
- As you step toward the ramp, motion-activated lights illuminate your way along the path to the back verandah and the guest entrance via the laundry door.
- When you head out again after dark, the same lights come on to guide you safely back to your vehicle.
