In your own vehicle

One of the joys of staying in East Ballarat is how effortlessly you can reach the city centre. From Maureen’s Retreat, three main streets — York, Eureka, and Victoria — guide you straight into town.
Guests staying on the eastern side of Ballarat enjoy the advantage of smooth traffic flow — unlike the busier western approach — making it a breeze to explore the Bridge Mall, Lake Wendouree, art galleries, heritage sites and gardens to vibrant shopping and dining.

Public Transport

For those who prefer to leave the car behind, public transport couldn’t be simpler.
The Route 20 bus passes right by the property, with two convenient stops just a short stroll away. Hop on for a 15-minute ride to the famous Bridge Mall, departing every hour on the hour. Return buses from Ballarat Station run hourly, on the half hour and take about 25 minutes, with a scenic trip through historic East Ballarat.
